Games

Here is some information and links on projects I've completed, presented in reverse chronological order. Most of these can be found at my page on the NFTS Games website, but the list here will probably be the most up to date. As always, feel free to get in touch if there's any questions.

Duncan in the Middle (December 2013)

An interactive sitcom where the player interacts with the events on screen through a second screen (e.g. phone, touch device, laptop, etc.). A couple of bugs to sort out, optimisation to be done and support for different resolutions to be added, but I should have a build available online pretty soon. Will include versions of the app for both android and pc (windows/mac/linux) so those without android tablets/phones will still be able to play.

Shelly (October 2013)

Explorative horror game created for the Asylum Jam game jam. With minimalist visuals, a dark foreboding atmosphere, some interesting 'chemistry experiment' mechanics (which unfortunately didn't manage to get fully utilised in the game due to time constraints) and 3D support, this was a really fun project to work on. I definitely want to return to horror again at some point (it's one of my favourite genres). Created with Korinthe, game page can be found here.

Roads (October 2013)

Short playable poem. Navigate an environment, triggering parts of Robert Frost's The Road Less Travelled.

Mountain Mike (June 2013)

Infinite runner with a twist, created at the Brains Eden game jam. Designed for tablet (touch) devices, line up the mountains to create a clear path for Mike as continues on his bike ride. Created with Korinthe, Ana Ribeiro and Paul Dillon. An online version can be found here - it plays okay with a mouse, but was definitely designed around touch.

Beacon (June 2013)

App project designed for mobile and touch devices. Procedurally generated pipe racing game - 'a rave in a pipe'. 3 different game modes, one of which includes a building soundtrack as you progress through the level. Can be played online here - file size is a bit big at the moment (far bigger than it needs to be), when I get a chance I'll sort out a leaner version to put up.

Kafka Theatre ['Hello World'] (April 2013)

Collaborative environment-based project. A retired actor returns to the theatre that made him infamous to relive his past experiences. An attempt at creating a large, detailed environment where the environment itself implies the story with some interaction thrown in for good measure. The project ended up being a bit huge and probably won't run on most machines (it's far from optimised!) so the trailer here is probably the easiest way to get a feel for the project. I was in charge of the chorus dressing room, star dressing room and connecting corridor in the game (seen around 0:40-0:52 in the trailer video). I also served as technical director and programmer on the project. Hopefully, I'll get a more optimised playable version out so more people can see the project.
